You need

  • A shoebox or tissue box with a hole
  • Rubber bands of different thicknesses

Let's play

  1. Stretch the rubber bands around the box, over the hole.
  2. Pluck each band. Can you see it wiggle?
  3. Listen: do thick and thin bands sound different?
  4. Play a song and sing along!
Grown-up tip: Touch a band while it’s buzzing to stop the sound: no wiggle, no sound!
