Benny Plants a Seed
Ages 2–3Science1 minute read
Benny has a sunflower seed. It is small and stripy.
Benny digs a little hole. Dig, dig, dig. He puts the seed in the soil and pats it down. Pat, pat.
Benny gives the seed a drink of water. Splash! Then the sun comes out to keep it warm.
Benny waits. And waits. And waits. Nothing happens. "Grow, little seed!" says Benny.
One morning, Benny sees something green. A sprout! It is poking up out of the soil.
Every day Benny gives it water. Every day the sun shines. The sprout grows taller and taller.
Then one day, there is a big yellow sunflower, taller than Benny! "Hello, sunflower," says Benny. "You were a tiny seed!"
