You need

  • Colored paper
  • Scissors and tape or glue
  • A strip of paper for a handle

Let's play

  1. Fold a sheet of paper in half the long way.
  2. Grown-ups help cut slits from the fold, stopping before the edge.
  3. Unfold it, roll it into a tube and tape the ends.
  4. Add a handle and hang your lantern up!
Grown-up tip: Paper lanterns are part of Lunar New Year and many other festivals of light.
